The Atrium Health Navicent Medical Group is searching for a Department of Family Medicine Chairperson to join our faculty and lead the program. The Chairperson is for leading the Family Medicine Residency and Geriatric Medicine Fellowship through detailed oversight of the training programs and institutional requirements, maintaining an environment of scholarly inquiry, professionalism and diversity, and facilitation of the resident and fellow learner’s development. The department serves as the academic training center for 27 residents and 2 fellows, along with medical students, and behavioral health interns, through our faculty appointments within the Mercer University School of Medicine.

Our faculty are responsible for the supervision of residents and fellows in the outpatient & inpatient settings in addition to didactic teaching, curriculum development, and maintaining an active outpatient clinical practice. This program began in 1972, is ACGME accredited, has trained over 300 physicians, including a recent Surgeon General, and continues to grow in an underserved community that truly benefits from graduate medical education. Faculty enjoy both the opportunity to educate future providers and building strong clinical practices. We collaborate with quality, growth, academic, and research endeavors with our colleagues at both Atrium Health Wake Forest, Atrium Health Charlotte, and Atrium Health Floyd.  This person will be a role model for future family medicine physicians by demonstrating compassion, commitment to excellence in teaching and patient care, professionalism, and a dedication to lifelong learning.
