This key leadership role will be responsible for the strategic growth and operational management of the Critical Care Anesthesiology Division, fostering excellence in clinical care, research, education, and faculty development. The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment commensurate with experience and qualifications and play a pivotal role in aligning the division with the overall mission and vision of the Department, Medical Center, and Academic Health System.
Highlights
  • Responsibilities include ensuring high-quality, evidence-based critical care in perioperative and ICU settings and partnering with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care. 
  • Lead educational programs for fellows, residents, and medical students, while mentoring faculty in clinical practice, research, and scholarship. 
  • Operational duties include faculty recruitment, retention, performance management, resource allocation, and driving quality improvement initiatives.
  • EPIC EMR
  • Be part of an integrated nationally recognized organization with physician-led medical group and embedded service line
  • Leverage access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature
  • Experience an environment that provides safe and equitable care for all patients
Training and/or Experience Required
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Board Certification in Anesthesiology.
  • Additional Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine (ABA) required.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina.
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in clinical care, education, research, and leadership within an academic medical center environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Critical Care Anesthesiology, including leadership or administrative experience.
